OzHarvest Feeding the 5000 in Sydney’s Martin Place

OzHarvest, the official Australian partner of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) on the global Think.Eat.Save – Reduce your Foodprint campaign, hosted the international event, Feeding the 5000 in Sydney’s Martin Place on Monday, 29 July from 12 noon until 2pm.

Australians waste $7.8 billion dollars of food or four million tonnes yearly, the equivalent of throwing away one in every five shopping bags. The event highlighted the ease with which  individuals as well as producers, supermarkets and governments can reduce these levels of food waste.
