This is the time of year when we normally bring you a list of the best whisky and spirit shows for 2020 but in light of the risks of Covid-19 and the government policy restricting large public gatherings, many event organisers have had to cancel, reschedule events or become innovative.

Alchemist Events, organisers of The Whisky Show have announced an Australian first with The Virtual Whiskey Show (American Style), a digital experience aimed at allowing consumers enjoy the whisky show from the comfort and safety of their homes.
Previously known as ‘Whiskey! The Show’, the first virtual Whiskey Show (American Style) will kick off with a livestream of the event on April 18 with a limited show exclusive bottling available to purchase as an add-on. Ticket holders will receive a box of 10ml whiskey samples delivered to their door, equal to the number of whiskies they normally would have had the opportunity to try at the Show, a Whisky Show glass and The Whisky Show App filled with all the info and videos about each whiskey.
David Ligoff, the founder of The Whisky Shows explains, “We know that many of you have been looking forward to our annual Whisky Show events, and while many other events across the country are being cancelled, we wanted to find a way to keep the whiskey flowing while people at are home doing the right thing by self-isolation. We’ve developed a unique way to bring the Show to you, in the comfort of your own home.”
The Virtual Whisky Show will commence with a special livestream event, which we will welcome everyone and give an overview on how the Virtual Show will work, how to use the app and any other FAQs plus a communal ‘cheers’ to commence the virtual show’s launch.
