Pacifico Go Go & Australian Bartender Magazine’s 150th Issue Party

Tuesday night marked bittersweet celebrations as the bar industry bid farewell to a Sydney institution, Café Pacifico after 16 years of operation and celebrated Australian Bartender Magazine’s 150th issue.

The invitation-only trade party was a collaborative effort between Phil Bayley of Café Pacifico and David Spanton, Editor and Publisher of Australian Bartender Magazine as a thank you to the industry and the people who have been personally affiliated with both.

There were heartfelt speeches, tequila, cocktails, good times and tributes on a night that is now part of the history of the Sydney bar scene.

With the magazine’s upcoming 150th issue, David Spanton has announced that The Bartender of the Year competition will have a sponsor, with ABSOLUT ELYX and Havana Club by Pernod Ricard. A change in format for the competition will see the top 10 contestants prepare their two drinks on stage in front of industry guests.

Thank you David Spanton. Thank you Phil Bayley. Congratulations Australian Bartender Magazine on 150 issues!

The event was held on Tuesday 7 May 2013 at Café Pacifico
