Stepping through the Ray Hughes Gallery on the last evening of the ABSOLUT Art Collection, it was difficult to distinguish the art from the hip crowd. The two week long exhibition featuring art by the likes of Andy Warhol and Louise Bourgeois, with a cushion room, silver armchairs and pinball machines had artwork descriptions that could only be accessed by pointing the iPhone’s QR reader at the wall.
The bar served cocktails with the new Absolut Berri Açaí and a DJ kept the crowd entertained. There were comfortable lounges to sit on, gourmet New York pizza slices and enough eye candy around that the organisers overlooked to declare a major piece of art: the ABSOLUT Hunk. Yes, there were plenty of them around that evening.
Art, of any form, is best admired without words.
