It’s old-meets-new at the revamped Annandale Hotel, the inner west pub and venue renowned for live music.
Relaunched last night after a new ownership by Oscars Hotels, the refurbished pub is the design of architect and interior designer, Elaine Richardson whose previous experiences include Trinity Hotel, Bat and Ball and The Henson Park Hotel.

A large leafy courtyard and bistro invite casual dining with an open air bar and retro fittings and furniture. A shiny new metallic main bar occupies the main area serving a range of local and international wines, craft beers and signature cocktails. You’ll find James Squires 100 lashes on tap, as well as Little Creatures IPA and Pipsqueak Apple Cider. The side bar with booth seating offers a more intimate experience under subdued lighting.
Executive Chef John Rankin (ex Waitan) is at the helm with his interpretation of pub food classics. Expect steaming buns including chilli prawn or pork belly with XO sauce, scallop and radish; empanadas with short rib or vegan curry mushroom fillings and grilled cheese sandwiches with kale. Southern fried chicken burgers feature on the menu as well as roasted duck Yorkshire puddings and baked s’more adding an international flavour to the menu.
At the relaunch party, Gossling kicked off the event with a live performance. The venue will be hosting local and international singer songwriters, unplugged and bluegrass artists.
You’ll find rock ‘n’ roll relics at the venue, and the “Buy A Brick and Save the Annandale Hotel” campaign has been commemorated by incorporating the plaques into the design of the hotel.
The Annandale Hotel relaunched on Wednesday 6 August 2014.
