The Woolwich Pier Hotel has re-opened after a major redesign, offering a modern French-brasserie menu with a Japanese twist under Head Chef Glenn Tabudlo.
The waterside venue known as “The Pier”was first established in 1885 and the new look venue brings a contemporary, casual elegance with a refreshing coastal feel, capitalising on its harbour-side location, whilst carefully respecting the buildings heritage fabric.
A dramatic staircase with an impressive mural leads up to The Social – a spacious indoor dining room offering views of Sydney Harbour. A standout feature of the venue is the 70-seat, spacious wrap around balcony with stunning views stretching over Cockatoo Island and the harbour.
For a more casual affair, guests can enjoy The Parlour bar with its large angular marble tables, leather booth seating with velvet armchairs, or enjoy an alfresco dining experience in the courtyard.
Head Chef Glenn Tabudlo has taken a new direction with the food offering in line with the venue redesign. Diners can expect a new brasserie menu influenced by modern and classic French flavours and Japanese ‘umami’.
Highlight dishes from the Woolwich Pier Hotel’s menu include small plates such as a Sashimi Grade Tuna Tartare with wasabi-ponzu dressing & rice crackers. Main plates include Filet Mignon ‘Surf and Turf’, with Yamba Prawns, braised kale, pont-neuf potatoes, lobster sauce americaine and a Crispy Skin Miso Salmon, squid ink risotto, salmon roe, sesame mayo, togarashi, edamame, enoki with ponzu. Pub classics such as the local favourite Chicken Pot Pie have remained.
The drinks list features Australia and New Zealand wineries, Champagne a selection of Italian wines, cocktails and a dedicated spritz list for summer.
