Top 10 Picks for World Class Cocktail Week 2017

The annual World Class Cocktail Week is back in May, with seven days of masterclasses and tastings by some of Australia’s best bartenders and chefs. The event runs from 7-13 May with more than forty events held across Sydney during the course of the week, culminating on World Cocktail Day.

1. Black Pearl X Bulletin Place

WHAT: Two of Australia’s greatest World Class bars will swap teams for two nights during World Class Cocktail Week.

2. 6pm in Italy

WHAT: A local version of happy hour in Italy with a curated menu of five modern aperitif cocktails, each with accompanying tapas inspired by classic Italian pairings.

WHAT: A tasting menu with matching cocktails exclusively for World Class Cocktail Week. The menu will feature six dishes, ranging from smaller appetisers to mains and two types of dessert, to be paired with a choice of three cocktails to accompany the dishes.

8. Gin & Vermouth Cocktail Dinner

WHAT: Bouche on Bridge executive chef Joachim Borenius – previously of Per Se in New York – will take over the kitchen at The Cellar to create an exclusive dinner using vermouth, matched with World Class vermouth cocktails made with Tanqueray gin.
