Urban Vineyard: A Taste of Queenstown

A piece of Queenstown, New Zealand was pretty much alive at The Winery in Surry Hills last week. The Destination Queenstown’s ‘Urban Vineyard’ #Queenstownlive, was launched last Monday for a week-long celebration of world-class wines and food.

The extraordinary transformation of the venue by The Artistry into a lush vineyard complete with live bunches of grapes brought some of the beauty and atmosphere of Queenstown to Surry Hills – an indulgent and visual masterpiece.

Showcasing some of Queenstown top wineries including Amisfield, Gibbston Valley, Mount Edward, Peregrine, Two Paddocks and Valli, joined forces to supply an array of fabulous local wines so visitors could experience a taste of Queenstown. One of the highlights was the stunning 2013 Mount Edward Pinot Blanc.

Guests enjoyed canapés created by Amisfield head chef Jay Sherwood along with an incredible table of cheese and cured meats.  Entertainment was provided by Queenstownmusician Holly Arrowsmith and one very lucky guest went home with an $8,000 Aro Hā retreat experience.

For the rest of the week, The Winery hosted a series of consumer events, all with a Queenstown flavour.

The Urban Vineyard was held on Monday 31 March 2014 at The Winery in Surry Hills.
