Tio’s Mezcal Mini Fest Returns in 2018

Mezcal fans in Sydney and Melbourne, mark your diaries. Tio’s Mezcal Mini Fest 2018 is coming next month.

Tio's Mezcal Mini Fest 2018

Back for a strong third year, Tio’s Mezcal Mini Fest will be held on the afternoon of Sunday March 11th. You’ll have the opportunity to taste and learn with nearly 20 brands on board.

As well as the Mezcal Minifest, Tio’s is also playing host to a number of exclusive mezcal focused classes.

‘Mixing with Mezcal’ will take you through how to mix cocktails with mezcal at home. It’ll equip you with all the necessary kit, as well as recipes and a cocktail to take home, to start you on your migration towards mezcal mixology.

‘Mezcal and Masa’ is a cooking class with a mezcal bent. One of Sydney’s most authentic Mexican chefs, Rosa Ciefuegos, and one of Australia’s foremost agave experts, Alex ‘Happy’ Gilmour, riffing on all things mezcal and maiz. Expect to taste 3 rare mezcals and learn to make authentic tortillas and tamales at home. One part lesson, one part afternoon at your local cantina, you’ll leave hydrated, with a full belly and everything you’ll need to host the next fiesta at your place.

Mezcal Minifest is also expanding to Melbourne. Tio’s will be teaming up with certified mezcal authority Nick Peters and the crew behind Mamasita to host a (massive) Melbourne Mezcal Minifest at their brother venue Hotel Jesus on March 25th from 2pm.
