The Toxteth in Glebe has unveiled a new look and all-new food and beverage menu, new cocktail offering, events packages and interior design overhaul.
Known as ‘The Tocky,’ the refurbishment follows shortly after its $22 million-dollar purchase by PHMG in February 2017 from Geoff Dixon and John Singleton’s Riversdale Group.
Designer Amandine Odouard (Bar Moncur Woollahra) has brought to The Toxteth a design with structural changes that include a new retractable roof covering the ambient courtyard. Signature features throughout the venue include exposed copper beer pipes, green foliage walls, leather panelling and timber finishing, among soft olive hues and cobble stone textures.
With The Toxteth’s all-new menu hailing as one of the most significant changes, Group Executive Chef Ben Varela gives emphasis to vegetarian and vegan options, including Latina Hot Bowls, Vitality Salads and Japanese Soba Noodles. Local favourites will be introduced with Varela’s touch, including dishes from The Grill, internationally-influenced salads, gelatos and a reimagined kids menu.
Group Bars Manager, Kurtis Bosley presents a beverage offering with an all-new cocktail menu and wine list, featuring a number of wines and cocktails on tap. The wine list has been purposefully-designed to complement the vegan options with organic and vegan wines, while local breweries are celebrated with the integration of micro-breweries such as Young Henry’s.
A line-up of regular entertainment and events at The Toxteth includes Saturday and Sunday acoustic sessions celebrating local talent, Sienna’s Brunch Club every Saturday, Sunday ‘Craft-ernoons to explore the best of local breweries, Trivia and Musical Bingo.
