Eight sauces make up the range: Keralan Coconut Curry, Original Tikka Masala, Rustic Rogan Josh, Delicate Korma Curry, Mangalore Herb Curry, Spiced Spinach Curry, Punjabi Tomato Curry and Southern Pepper Curry.
The principle is simple. A variety of dishes can be created from the same main ingredients, be it poultry, meat, seafood or vegetables in just ten minutes. The sauces come in parts, a spice mix and the sauce.
To create a dish, you fry the spices first to release the aroma and flavour, add the sauce followed by the main ingredient and cook for ten minutes.
At the launch of The Spice Tailor range in Sydney, Anjum Anand demonstrated the ease with which an authentic dish can be prepared by cooking Keralan Coconut Curry with prawns before guests were seated to delicious Indian fare.
Lamb Tikka and Ricotta stuffed eggplants
To start, an entree of Lamb Tikka and Ricotta stuffed eggplants in a spiced tomato sauce was served.
Keralan Coconut Curry with Prawns
A main course feast followed with Southern Pepper Curry with chicken and cashew nuts, Lamb Rogan Josh, Tikka Masala with paneer and green peppers and Keralan Coconut Curry with prawns.
Also making its debut, 2012 Dirty Three Riesling, a wine with acidity and a sweet finish, made a good accompaniment to the spicy dishes.
Sweet Saffron Yoghurt
Dessert was a light and palate cleansing Sweet Saffron Yoghurt topped with crushed pistachios and pomegranate.
Coles Supermarkets will be stocking the range exclusively from Monday 8 July, 2013 at a RRP $4.99.
The Spice Tailor media launch was held on Wednesday 3 July 2013 at a private residence.
