Taste of Tasmania Wines of the World Dinner is coming to Platform 818 restaurant this Friday with a special offer for Gourmantic readers.
Mercure Sydney is holding their final edition of World of Wines dinner series in 2019, Taste of Tasmania: Wines of the World Dinner, a 4-course dinner with matched wines from Tasmania. This is your opportunity to explore award-winning wines from Tamar Ridge, Devils Corner & Pirie wines along with limited releases from the region, each with a history and story to tell.
The evening will be hosted by Tamar Ridge Wine expert Andrew Harris. Andrew brings his own passion for wine and food to the Victorian portfolio with over 15 years of experience in the wine industry and a degree in viticulture & wine technology from the University of Melbourne. His approach to winemaking is one of presenting the true “personality” of each wine, accurately reflecting both its terroir and varietal distinction. Andrew has completed vintages in Victoria, Tasmania and Bordeaux France.
Taste of Tasmania Wines of the World Dinner will take place this Friday 15 November at Platform 818 at 6pm starting with pre-dinner drinks. The restaurant is located inside Mercure Hotel Sydney opposite Central Station and nestled above an unused historical goods line tunnel. Platform 818 features a modern take on classic Australian dishes made with locally-sourced produce that once would have travelled from railway towns along the NSW goods line.
