Rosé Revolution at the Argyle in the Rocks

In celebration of Rosé Revolution, a number of rosé events took place all around Australia, kicking off on November 10, 2011. Much like Global Champagne Day, Rosé Revolution is a celebration of dry and savoury styles of rosé, an event started by Leanne De Bortoli from De Bortoli Wines.

Rosé Revolution

The Argyle at the Rocks wore a vibrant shade of pink  with the courtyard lined in pink carpet and tasting stations set up inside.

A free taste and tweet was held between 5pm and 7pm with over 80 dry style rosé wines on taste. Tasters were invited to tweet using the hashtag #roserev and spread the celebration around the world. This was followed by a Rosé Soirée party from 7:30pm to 9:30pm with a canapé menu matched with 11 rosé wines.

The Age and Good Food Guide wine author Nick Stock and De Bortoli chief winemaker Steve Webber introduced the wines which included some favourites such as Rococo Sparkling Rosé NV, La Boheme Act Two Dry Pinot Noir Rosé 2011 from the Yarra Valley, Bespoke Bros Rosé 2011 from Heathcote, Logan ‘Hannah’ Rosé 2011 from Orange and Chateau de Sours Rosé 2010 from Bordeaux.
