Dressed Madonna-style, Sarah hosted an entertaining evening at Gazebo Wine Garden pairing her favourite rosé wines with Madonna’s hits. Entitled, the Immaculate Selection, five rosé wines from around the world were paired with food and song that had some guests dancing in the aisles and on their chairs.

Madonna, being the queen of reinvention was chosen for the event which is part of the Rosé Revolution, a campaign that celebrates the revival of dry rosé wines, Sarah explained.

Oysters with pearl

To start, oysters with pearl were matched with Chandon Rose N/V Rose and paired with Madonna’s Material Girl.

Fish dip

Next, a garlicky fish dip was matched with a 2009 Terradorra Rosaenovae Rosato from Campania in Italy and paired with Madonna’s Vogue.

Scallops

Scallops with spicy sausage were matched with the savoury and versatile Pittnauer Rosé from Austria and paired with Madonna’s Frozen.

Sausage rolls

Next, sausage rolls were served with a dry Petit Rimauresq Rosé from Provence in France and paired with Madonna’s Justify My Love.

Date tart

And to finish, a delectable date tart was matched with 2011 Turkey Flat Rosé from the Barossa Valley in South Australia and paired with Madonna’s Like a Virgin.

Madonna and 80s hits rolled out throughout the evening proving that there are always innovative way of matching good wines and good times.
