Rekorderlig Cider Winter Fest

Rekorderlig cider celebrated a beautifully Swedish Winter Fest with an elegant dinner held at Bite Club House.

The eclectic events space in the Woollahra mansion wore a winter theme for the occasion with soft lighting, candelabras, flower arrangements and clove-studded oranges resembling Christmas decorations.

The evening began with drinks and canapés in the quirky lounge room. Warm Winter Cider was served in the style of mulled wine. Canapés consisted of Roast Chicken  infused with Rekorderlig Apple cider, apple, rosemary in chat potatoes and Rekorderlig Passionfruit cider cured Gravalax with dill on blinis and cider butter. The latter was perfectly matched with the fruity yet crisp Rekorderlig Passionfruit cider.

In the dining room, the entrée consisted of a delicious Crackly Fennel Pork Belly braised with Rekorderlig Pear cider, melting in the mouth with flavour and a cripsy crackling. The dish was accompanied by apple crisps, pear and parsnip puree and witlof salad and was paired with Rekorderlig Pear Cider.

For mains, a choice of two dishes was on offer. The slow-cooked Rekorderlig Orange and Ginger Cider Beef Cheeks on smashed neeps and tatties, with caramelised eshallots and parsley salad was a warming and delicious winter dish while the King Salmon Fillet with  broad beans, pea puree, dill and Rekorderlig Apple-Guava cider Beurre Blanc provided a lighter alternative.

Dessert brought out the yuletide theme with a trio of mini desserts consisting of Mulled Winter Cider Jelly, beautifully decorated with edible gold stars, Swedish Saffron and Currant Swirls and Mini Mince and Apple Cider Pies.

To finish, The Winters Cherry Fire was served, a blazer-style cocktail with a warming mix of Rekorderlig Winter Cider, gin and cherry liqueur, making it a fitting finale for an enchanting winter’s evening.

The Rekorderlig Cider Winter Fest dinner was held on Wednesday 2 July 2014 at Bite Club House in Woollahra.
