Mark your diaries. Mace from NYC, one of the world’s best bars is coming to Sydney’s PS40 in January.
For one night only on January 30th, Nico de Soto, co-owner and executive bartender of Mace, will be behind the bar at PS40 serving his travel-inspired, spice-driven cocktails from 5pm to midnight.
Mace is a spice-driven cocktail bar located in East Village, New York. Their concept is based around spices that give inspiration to creative cocktails and experimentation. Ranked 28th best bar in the World by Drinks International and top 4 for World’s Best Cocktail Menu at the Spirited Awards – Tales of the Cocktail in 2016, this is an experience no serious cocktail lover would want to miss.
Nico de Soto
Parisian born and raised, Nico de Soto first began bartending in Paris in 2005 where he trained in classic cocktails before he moved to Australia in 2007 to work in Melbourne. He then returned to Paris, worked in China Club and became bar manager at Mama Shelter before joining Paris’ most respected cocktail bars, the Experimental Cocktail Club and Curio Parlor. He subsequently opened Mace in New York City. In 2016, he opened Danico in Paris, a new bar inside Galerie Vivienne which has since been nominated for Best New European Bar at the Bar Convent in Berlin.
Nico’s approach of drinks is inspired by cuisine, working with new flavours, combinations and techniques and the collaboration with PS40 is sure to be a highlight of 2017. Here is a snapshot of the menu:
PS40, needs little introduction as one of Sydney’s best cocktail bars that has cemented its reputation in bringing a unique concept and flavours by owners Thor Bergquist Michael Chiem and Livia Lima.
Mace X PS40 is on Monday January 30th 2017 from 5pm to midnight at PS40.
