After a much anticipated wait, Bruce the Butcher has arrived to Clovelly. Selling a range of gourmet meats, including goat and duck, this little shop that went up overnight is sure to be a huge hit with the locals.
And so is the new Café Piccolo. Conveniently located next to the butcher shop, this little gem in Sydney’s eastern suburbs is sure to draw the yummy mummy crowds during the day.
In fact, a few new businesses have sprung this spring, including Westwood’s Real Estate, Fringe Hairdressing and Brennan Tax Accountants.
And saving the best till last, the quiet suburb of Clovelly with its village-like atmosphere has finally got its own St George bank,
with a much needed ATM .
Even the Happy Dragon was seen using the newly-erected telephone booth.
But take a close look, as things are not what they seem.
Much like the time Coogee Beach was transformed into the French Riviera, the tiny strip along Clovelly Road had an overnight makeover.
Traffic was redirected as camera crew set up to film a commercial for St George Bank.
Ready?
Action!
A small crowd gathered to watch the filming behind the scenes, with many giving a nod of approval to the new look.
Behind the Scenes
St George Happy Dragon at Clovelly
According to word on the street, this is one advertisement that the locals can’t wait to air on television.
Hahaha. I love that dragon. He’s pestering someone talking on the phone, yes?
I LOVE Clovelly. It’s my number 1 snorkelling destination!
He’s quite happy, and he had the funniest walk! Can’t wait to see the final edits.
It’s a lovely spot, isn’t it… Must remember to take a snorkel there one day!
Ha ha ha…the dragon is great! I never would have known that the street was transformed for a commercial…although the dragon had me thinking it was quite an “interesting” neighborhood – to say the least 🙂
Your photos are amazing as always – so vibrant!
That’s brilliant! The dragon rubbing his hands in front of the butcher shop says it all 🙂
Yes, he looks rather happy as if he’s about to get up to mischief! 🙂
Looks like a happening hub, dragon included.
Only on the day, Cate. Normally, it’s quiet little spot that serves the locals!
