Good Food Month Launch 2014

The 16th annual Sydney Good Food Month launched at Merivale‘s Coogee Pavilion at Coogee Beach with gentle sea breezes and the sound of the waves as backdrop.

Sydney Good Food Month is a month-long festival of all things food and drink, in the bustling CBD, Sydney’s suburbs and regional NSW. A complete foodie experience awaits, with over 450 events such as breakfasts, lunches-brunches, dinners and dessert tours, pop–ups and bar hops presenting almost endless opportunities to taste the most delicious fare from top Sydney restaurants and beyond. The festival also includes Omnivore World Tour from France and Tanqueray Bar Hop.

Festival director Joanna Savill welcomed guests to the launch along with Good Food Month editor Kate Cox who gave an overview of what we can expect of this month’s events, along with Linda Duncombe from CitiBank, one of the major sponsors of the festival. Winners of Shoot the Chef were also announced, Holly by James Ross as Overall Winner and Six Chicks by Corinna Lueg as Clique Monthly Challenge Winner.

Cathay Pacific, the festivals official airline and major sponsor, is bringing chefs from around the world to Sydney. As part of this, the Sydney Signature Night Noodle Markets, Cathay Pacific will connect with other night markets around the world via a live telecast, titled ‘Taste Asia with Cathay’. Attendees who visit Cathay Pacific’s night noodle markets will be transported to Hong Kong, Shanghai and Tokyo, seeing and tasting the colour, flavour and sights of these cities as they share the experience.

Delectable food came from the wonderful team at Coogee Pavilion and the beverage selection on offer featured products other beverage sponsors including Coopers, Schweppes, Yalumba, Thatchers and Tanqueray Gin.

Good Food Month was held on the 30th of September 2014 at Coogee Pavilion. Gourmantic attended the event as guests of Cathay Pacific.
