The Dewar’s Scotch Egg Club will be popping up in Sydney throughout May, paying homage to the combination of fine whisky and the coveted Scotch Egg.
So what’s whisky got to do with chickens? Tommy Dewar, son of John, the founder of Dewar’s whisky had two obsessions: whisky and chickens. While producing his whisky, Tommy bred pedigree chickens that laid some of the finest eggs.
Dewar’s Scotch Egg Club will take the flavours of Dewar’s 12 and pair cocktails by Dewar’s Ambassador, Andy Wren with four different flavour combos of Scotch Eggs by ACME’s Mitch Orr.
Lead by some of Australia’s leading whisky bartenders, guests can experience a serving of Scotch Eggs and a dram of matching whiskies.
For the whisky enthusiasts, there will also be masterclasses with the opportunity to try all the Dewar’s blends (12, 15 and 18 years old) as well as the single malts that are used to create them. One of those single malts is Craigellachie, crowned the Best Single Malt in the World 2017.
