The Australian final of the Bacardi Legacy Cocktail Competition was held last night at El Coco in Melbourne with Alissa Gabriel of The Manhattan Line in Brisbane taking out the competition with her Bouteiller cocktail.
Alissa Gabriel, Australian Bacardi Legacy Winner
Alissa’s winning drink, Bouteiller, was inspired by the relationship between Facundo Bacardi and Jose Leon Bouteiller, a French Distiller and confectioner who was renting a house off the BACARDI family. The cocktail is made with Bacardi Carta Oro Rum, Dry Vermouth, Falernum, a green Chartreuse rinse and Peychauds Bitters.

The drinks were judged by an esteemed panel consisting of Enrique Comas (6th generation Bacardi family member and Global Brand Manager), Jose Sanchez Gavito (Bacardi Master Blender), Phil Bayly (industry expert and ex Cafe Pacifico) and Fred Siggins, winner of the 2014 Bacardi Legacy Australian finals.
