ABSOLUT OZ launched last night at a spectacular event held at the Bucket List on Bondi Beach. The latest limited edition release is the result of a collaboration with director Baz Luhrmann to create the Swedish vodka’s first ever Australia bottle.

“We are all equal under the sun” is the theme of ABSOLUT OZ, a spiced orange-flavoured vodka created to evoke Australian beaches, Baz Luhrmann explained as he took to the stage.
“Absolut Oz is a distillation of the unifying truth that we are all equal under the sun. While creating the drinks which feature and celebrate Absolut Oz, we reflected on that moment when the sun dips below the horizon and, as we say in the movies, the magic hour is upon us.”- Baz Luhrmann, Film Director.
Four installations brought an Australian beach focus to the launch with Bells Beach (Victoria), South Avoca (Central Coast NSW), Tamarama (NSW) and Cable Bay (Western Australia). Each section had a dedicated bar serving cocktails created by Luhrmann and presented by the team at the Drink Cabinet, the Tama-Glama, the Hells Bells Beach, the Cable Beach ‘Stairway to the Moon’ and the South Avoca Elevator.
ABSOLUT OZ is a dry style of vodka with pronounced orange and cinnamon flavours on the palate. The flavour profile makes it versatile to use in summer-style cocktails and with mixers such as ginger beer, cloudy apple juice and agave juice.
The limited edition ABSOLUT OZ will go on sale in March 2014 and will retail for $54.99 for the 1 litre bottle size. It will feature a neck tag with story notes, images and cocktail recipes created by Luhrmann.
