The winner of the Glenmorangie Cocktail competition was announced at the 2012 Whisky Show with Luke Redington of Eau-de-Vie Bar taking the title with his cocktail “Hit and Run”.
For the competition, bartenders had to crate a Glenmorangie whisky cocktail and have it promoted and listed in their bar. Twelve finalists were selected from 36 entries with the competition judged by Dan Woolley (World of Whisky Ambassador), Garth Foster (Brand Ambassador for Moet-Hennessey) and Sacha Delfosse (Editor, Bars and Clubs Magazine).
The 12 finalists were Ben Eakins (Miss Chu), Michael Jones (Cherry Bar), Michael Chiem (Black by Ezard), Marcellus Heleta (Pocket Bar), Jonothan Carr (The Wild Rover), Luke Hanzlicek (Victoria Room), Natalie Ng (Mojo), Luke Redington (Eau de Vie), Stuart Morrow (Hugo’s), Ben Blair (the Corner House), Jimmy Smith (the Corner House) and Ben Hickey (Pocket Bar).
Congratulations to Luke Redington on his win. His received a Glenmorangie Big Bottle, an engraved Quaich trophy and $500 from World of Whisky, the organisers of the competition.

40ml Glenmorangie 10 yo
20ml rice milk reduction (rice milk, malt powder, butter and truffle honey)
10ml chestnut and apple liqueur (Le Birlou)
Stirred and strained into a whisky tumbler.
Served neat with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top.
His winning cocktail was served at the Whisky Show and is available at Eau-de-Vie Bar in July.
