The first Domaine de Canton Bartender of the Year Competition held in Australia was hosted at Assembly Bar in Sydney CBD. To enter, bartenders had to submit an original Domaine de Canton cocktail and the finalists from Australia and New Zealand were selected to compete for the prize.

Competing for the title were Luke Redington from Eau-de-Vie Bar in NSW, Andy Penney from The Anchor in NSW, Reece Griffiths from Low 302 in NSW, Dave Chick from Rendezvous Hotel in Victoria, Sean Chow from The Press Club in Queensland, James Connolly from El Público in WA and Dany Dentith from No. 1 High St Bar in New Zealand.

Congratulations to Reece Griffiths from Low 302 on winning the title with his cocktail, The Outcast. He will be going to St Martin in the Caribbean to compete in the Domaine de Canton International Bartender of the Year competition with a chance to win $10,000 USD.

Domaine de Canton is a French ginger liqueur made with Vietnamese ginger, VSOP Cognac, Tahitian vanilla beans, Provencal honey and Tunisian ginseng.
The Domaine de Canton Bartender of the Year 2012 Competition was held at Assembly Bar which recently hosted the Ron de Jeremy Rum tasting.
