Whisky Fair Coming to Sydney in September

Whisky-Fair-Logo-2013

Whisky enthusiasts, mark your diaries. The Sydney Whisky Fair 2013 presented by the Oak Barrel is back for the fourth year on 6th & 7th September. The event will feature over 30 of the world’s leading distilleries with more than 150 whiskies to taste.

This year’s selection has been curated around artisan producers and micro distilleries (Balcones, Koval, High West and Belgrove Distillery), independent bottlings (Gordon & MacPhail and Adelphi) and hard to find releases.

A private bottling of Overeem Port Finish 43%, currently maturing at the Oak Barrel premises will be available to taste and purchase in limited quantities. A single cask bottling of Longmorn 21 Year Old created exclusively for the Oak Barrel will be on taste and as well as Jim Murray’s top three ‘2013 World Whisky of the Year’ award winners, Thomas H Handy Rye, William Larue Weller and Ballantine’s 17 Year Old.

Woodford Reserve will be serving prohibition era cocktails and this year will see the return of the popular “Ode to a Haggis” performance.
