Saturday 14 September 2019

12pm to 4pm – Future Spirits Talks: Scotch Whisky

  • Session 1: 12pm – 1pm; The Whisky of the Future – art vs. science
  • Session 2: 1.15pm – 2.15pm; Mythology & Marketing
  • Session 3: 2.30pm – 3.30pm; Blends Versus Single Malts – who cares?

4pm to 7pm – Westside Represent! Official Sydney Bar Week Launch Event

  • Door Knock will be letting the best of WA’s bartenders and hospitality professionals take over their bar and kitchen

7pm to 9pm – Waste-Free Weekender By Maybe Mae & 42Below

  • Ollie Margan and his Adelaide team to curate a unique experience that showcases Maybe Mae’s industry-leading approach to minimising waste and smashing sustainability when making drinks.

9am to 10.30am: St Germain La Maison Wellness

10.30am to 1pm: 4th Annual Bartenders Agave Brunch

  • Numbers are strictly limited, so get in early to secure your spot.

1pm to 4pm: Indie Spirits Tasting Sydney

  • Over 30 exhibitors showcasing more than 100 craft spirits from grappas to gins, amaros, mezcals and more. There are also master distillers on hand to chat and free seminars hosted by Bartender magazine.

2pm to 4pm: Hennessy Basketball

4pm to 6pm: Tequila Versatility By Academia Patrón

  • Australian Patrón tequila brand ambassador, Alejandro Archibald, will be hosting an immersive tequila versatility session, a creative space to explore possibilities of 100% Agave tequila in cocktail menus.
  • Location: Bar Patron by Rockpool, 2 Phillip St Sydney

6pm to 8pm: Bartender Magazine Most Influential List

  • The Top 10 — including the number 1 Most Influential — will be announced at the exclusive Most Influential List Party during Sydney Bar Week
  • Location: Double Deuce Lounge. Invitation Only.

6pm to 11pm: Magnums & Movies

  • A screening of the movie, Cocktail, free flowing Magnums poured by 2018 Australian Bartender of The Year, Jenna Hemsworth, popcorn, cocktails, a full 80s buffet dinner and dessert are included. $130pp
  • Location: Restaurant Hubert, 15 Bligh Street, Sydney

11pm to 1am: The Vortex Party

  • They’re kicking off Bartender’s Christmas on Sunday before all the festivities begin. Bars from each state will be invited to assemble and bring their vibes and signature serves.

  • Australia’s toughest test of bartending ability is back. Who will make the top 8?

11am to 1pm: Ardbeg Masters of Smoke

  • Ardbeg Master of Smoke  is an education platform from which bartenders will be trained to become Master of Smoke.

  • Session 1: 11.30am – 12.30pm, The Death of the Trend: Forge your own way or go the f%ck home
  • Session 2: 12.30pm – 1.30pm, Sustainability: cash cow or money pit? How to get sustainability working for you

  • The House of Angostura will host the final of its global cocktail challenge.

9pm to 11pm: House of William Grant Hospo Party

  • EO is opening late for Sunday Bartender Blowout. A revolving door of guest shifts, silk pyjamas, tasty drinks and a wild night.

11am to 1pm: Nikka Masterclass by Hiroyasu Kayama from Bar Benfiddich, Tokyo

  • Be guided through a masterclass whereby Nikka whiskies will be paired with different flavours intended to create quasi-cocktail-in-your-mouth, a process known as “kochuchomi” in Japan.

1pm to 3pm: Jack Daniel’s House of Whiskey

  • Jack Daniel’s family of whiskeys, southern food, great music and some surprise appearances from bartenders from around Australia. Guests will get to try the new Jack Daniel’s Rye in some new and different ways plus also get to smarten up for the Bar Awards with their ‘Gentleman’s Barber’.

3pm to 5pm: Bartending As An Art With Agung Prabowo
