Stoneleigh Hotel

Step into Stoneleigh Hotel, a once abandoned hotel in Chippendale for a sensorial wine experience and go on a fully immersive journey to learn about Stoneleigh Wines’ philosophy of minimal winemaking intervention.

Start at the Grand ‘Wining’ Hall with vines and foliage. An overgrown dining table awaits for a free tasting session featuring wines from the Stoneleigh range: Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc Wild Valley, Pinot Noir and Pinot Noir Wild Valley.

Continue on to explore other rooms of the Stoneleigh Hotel, each revealing elements of Stoneleigh different to the last.

At the Wild Valley Ballroom, learn about the winemaking process of wild fermentation where natural/wild fermentation occurs using the natural micro-flora present in the vineyard and on the skin of the grapes. The result is a richer and more textural wine with medium body and good mouthfeel. Stoneleigh Wild Valley Wines was released last year and is now in the second vintage.

Next is the Sauvignon Blanc Powder Room and Pinot Noir Study. Each room is an overgrown botanical of wine tasting notes, possessing forsaken belongings of guests past.

Stoneleigh Hotel will host a number of exclusive events for Sydney-siders, ranging from live music gigs to photography classes to be announced soon.

Stoneleigh Hotel is located at 48 Kensington Street in Chippendale and runs from 11 November to 4 December 2016, Tuesdays to Fridays from 5pm – 10pm and weekends from 12 pm to 10pm. Stoneleigh Hotel is a free event and bookings are not required.
