Ms G’s launches The Blend with Chivas Regal and Guest Chefs

Executive Chef Dan Hong is collaborating with some of his favourite chefs to launch The Blend, presented by Chivas Regal, an exclusive series of international chef collaborations, bespoke cocktails and whisky blending at Ms.G’s.

The Blend

The Blend will see Dan Hong and his guest chefs join forces on an experimental menu that will be served for two nights only, and see one signature dish available for the month. The events will be become the ultimate weeknight parties with DJs, roving snacks, bespoke Chivas Regal cocktails (specially created for the event to match the menu) and whisky stations throughout the venue where guests can sample and learn more about the different blends.

The Blend

To launch the series, Hong will team up with game-changing LA chef Kris Yenbamroong of Night + Market fame, on 10 and 11 October. Since taking over the space next to his parents Thai restaurant Talésai on Sunset Boulevard in 2010, and turning it into the first Night + Market, Yenbamroong has been a finalist for a James Beard Award (multiple times), named Food & Wine magazine’s best new chef in 2016, and recently launched a cookbook – ‘Night + Market: Delicious Thai Food to Facilitate Drinking and Fun-Having Amongst Friends’.

For the second instalment, an Asian fusion mash up, Hong will be joined by Jowett Yu of Hong Kong’s Ho Lee Fook and Louis Tikram of LP & EP, LA on 12 and 13 November. The Taiwanese-born, Vancouver-raised, and Sydney-trained chef Yu is no stranger to the Ms.G’s kitchen. He opened Ms.G’s with Hong back in 2011, before launching Merivale’s multi-award winning Mr. Wong. Since then, he has taken Hong Kong by storm, opening his casually hip establishment, Ho Lee Fook and serving up his distinctive Chinese flavours, inspired by the spirit of late-night Chinatown hangouts in 1960s New York. Raised on a 110-acre cattle farm in Mullumbimby, Fijian-Chinese-Indian, Tikram has made been making a big name for himself in State-side. Since 2015, the 31-year-old has brought his multicultural, family-style philosophy to Los Angeles as executive chef of E.P. & L.P, with Conde Naste describing his food “much like his story: diverse, creative, patiently executed”.

The third and final partnership of the series will be announced soon.

Tickets are available from the Merivale website and cost $89.95 per person. They include all food, four Chivas Regal cocktails, a custom whisky blend experience, your very own blended whisky to keep and entertainment until late.
