Jason Williams has recently spent a week at Ica in southern Peru, visiting Campo de Encanto Pisco distilleries and creating a bartenders’ blend. Pisco is distilled from grapes using specific grape varietals that fall into aromatic and non-aromatic categories much like terroir in wine. Learn all about Pisco here.
During the masterclass, he demonstrated three Pisco cocktails which can be found in most bars in Peru.
The Chilcano is a refreshing mix of Pisco with fresh lime juice topped with dry ginger ale. The Pisco Sour is an easy-drinking combination of Pisco, fresh lemon and lime juice, sugar, egg white, shaken with ice and topped with a couple of drops of bitters. The Maracuja Sour is a take on the Pisco Sour with passionfruit added.
Pisco cocktails will be available at the Intercontinental Hotel during the month of July.
