Mezcal March is a month-long celebration of the artisanal agave spirit at Tio’s Cerveceria running from March 1 to March 31. Learn all about Mezcal from the knowledgeable team, taste it in cocktails or in a signature serve throughout the month. On Sunday 27th March from 3pm, Tio’s is hosting a Mezcal Mini Fest with eight of Australia’s best agave importers together showcasing their brands for a tasting and round table discussion. Ghostboy Cantina, the new taqueria from Dixon House will provide food for the day as well as some live music. This is your chance to taste, learn and appreciate the craft behind the agave spirit. 2016 Glenfiddich Culinary Challenge

The Glenfiddich Culinary Challenge is back for 2016 and you’re invited to attend the special event hosted by William Grant & Sons. At the five course degustation dinner, chefs from around Australia will serve a dish which reflected a pioneering member of their own family, using an expression of Glenfiddich whisky as a main ingredient.

Not only will you sip on Glenfiddich single malt cocktails, dine in the superb dining room of Centennial Parklands Dining, you will be asked to pick your favourite dish of the night in a bid to crown the winner of this year’s challenge. Tickets cost $130 pp and all proceeds from the night will go to charity Soldier On who seek to aid the recovery of the returning men and women from our Defence forces. Della Hyde Cuban Night

Della Hyde are hosting a Cuban night on March 10 where they have partnered with Havana rum for a night exotic beats, drinks and food. There’s going to be a Cuban band and DJ, Cuban inspired taro fritters with tamarind ketchup, stuffed potato balls and traditional Cubano sandwiches, and $10 Havana cocktails including a daiquiris, mojitos and a special Della Hyde mystery cocktail.

A Moveable Feast

From the event director of Diner en Blanc comes A Moveable Feast, new series of dining experiences, designed to take Sydneysiders on a range of dining journeys, showcasing the beauty of Sydney in each season. The first event is a pastel picnic, where guests will emulate the trappings of the Riviera lifestyle, dressed in pastel beach chic revelling in a celebration of excellent food, champagne and wine, alongside a selection of curated entertainment. The event is held on Saturday 12th March 2016 at Bondi Beach with food by Lauren Murdoch. Tickets cost $220 per person (includes food and beverage).

Taste of Sydney

Taste of Sydney is back at Centennial Park with a massive line up of restaurants including Firedoor (Lennox Hastie), Nel. (Nelly Robinson), Salaryman (Stephen Seckold), Three Blue Ducks at The Farm (Darren Robertson and Mike Labrooy) to name a few. Taste of Sydney runs from Thursday 10 to Sunday 13 March at Centennial Parklands.

Cali Tequila Shack at SoCal

Cali Tequila Shack takes up residence at SoCal from the 1st of March with free Olmeca Altos tastings, Tequila flights ($20) which include 2 Olmeca tequilas expressions and Avion Espresso. More information about the Cali Tequila Shack here.

The Balvenie Telescope at Blu Bar

The Balvenie Telescope has landed at Shangri-la Sydney, perched high on Blu Bar at level 36. Look through the handcrafted telescope and enjoy bespoke Balvenie cocktails and cocktails from the Liquid Physics range. More information about the Balvenie telescope here.

Turandot Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour

Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour is back with Turandot, a 4 week performance period from March 24th to April 24th 2016. To complement the theme of the performance, Fresh Catering Executive Chef Geoff Haviland has drawn inspiration from the diverse cuisine of Imperial Peking, his own experience travelling throughout China’s Sichuan Province and as Executive Chef of Intercontinental Hong Kong to offer a bespoke food menu including à la carte menu and a lavish buffet.

Hendrick’s Gin at Spectrum Now

Hendrick’s Gin is bringing its “Abandoned Circus” displays and Hendrick’s & Tonic serves to Spectrum Now. Running from Thursday 3rd to Sunday 13th March 2016, in The Domain, Hendrick’s has partnered with Gelato Messina who will be serving, a custom created cucumber sorbet, designed to savour with Hendricks Gin & Tonic.

Coogee Foreshore Festival

Part of March into Merivale, Coogee Foreshore Festival is back on 20 March at Coogee Pavilion where you can enjoy an amazing array of food from Coogee Pavilion, Papi Chulo, El Loco, sushi e and Mr. Wong, roving entertainment, live music performances, family games and plenty more surprises. ($25/$45, three/six food and drink tokens).

“Crawl into Crumb” at Ramblin’ Rascal Tavern

Not that you need an excuse to head down the stairs to Ramblin’ Rascal Tavern but if you do, this Sydney favourite is holding “Crawl into Crumb” during March. Two highlights are Post Paddies Day Breakfast on March 18th with Marys brekky burger and Jameson Cask Mates from 12pm. On March 30th, a raffle will be held with prizes including a 3 course degustation at The Unicorn accompanied with tinnies of beer, LP’s meat tray, two tickets for a distillery tour at Archie Rose, $70 gift voucher at Hawleywoods barber shop and a bar kit from Bar Geek. Tickets cost $5.
