Jamon & Jerez. Is there anything more enticing to transport you to Spain and its culinary delights?

Jamon & Jerez

Bar Tapa in Darlinghurst have recently introduced Jamon & Jerez flights to their menu where each sherry flight comes with selections of cured meats and cheeses to educate the palate.

To launch this new experience, Bar Tapa is presenting a ‘Jamon & Jerez Night’ on Wednesday 24th October. Guests will have the
opportunity to taste a selection of 4 different sherries from Gonzalez Byass that include Tio Pepe fino, 12yr Amontillado, 8yr Oloroso and the rarely seen Palo Cortado, available in NSW exclusively at Bar Tapa.

Paired with these dry sherries are 3 different styles of Jamon available on the night. The Rodriguez Bros Jamon from NSW that is the venue’s house choice and hand cut to order, an 18 month aged Duroc Jamon Serrano from La Hoguera and the highly prized Jamon Iberico aged for 24 months from the Julian Martin stables.

The evening will also feature an insight on how the team at Gonzalez Byass make the award-winning sherries so guests can a better understanding of this style of wine. Maestro Jamonero David Leon (manager of Alegrias) will be there on the night, hand cutting the house Jamon and the Iberico for guests, and answering questions on how to best keep Jamon, cutting style and the arduous process of creating this delicious expression of cured meat.

It’s an experience you don’t want to miss.
