The Good Food and Wine Show returned to Sydney on the weekend of 22-24 June at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre. The yearly show provides an opportunity for visitors to participate in masterclasses, watch chefs in action at the Celebrity Theatre as well as navigate around the stalls tasting samples or buying products at show prices.

Two brief visits guaranteed a quick lap around the venue, with a pause at the odd stall to catch some of the action.
Sammy and Bella with Paul Berryman
At The Chopping Block, cooking demonstrations by Sammy and Bella (My Kitchen Rules) were underway with Bertolli Olive Oil. The demonstration showcased the versatility of Bertolli’s range of olive oils in dishes such as Tempura Salmon, Spaghetti Aglio Olio and BBQ Lamb Rump with lemon and cumin.
Elk Cider
Elk Cider from Sweden offered a tasting of their pear and apple ciders, both refreshing and crisp and not overly sweet as some Swedish ciders tend to be.
L-R: Neil with Dave Kynaston of Exclusive Vines
Exclusive Vines packed eager crowds with their vine-decorated stand and Argentinian wines on taste.
Exclusive Vines
Of particular note was the Tomero Torrontés, an aromatic wine that finishes dry and crisp on the palate and the Tomero Malbec, a smooth red with dark fruits and fine tannins.
Exclusive Vines
The standout was the Vistalba Corte A, a full-bodied Malbec with ripe red fruit aromas, rich and textural, with fine tannins that come from spending 18 months in new French Oak.
Ed Carr of Arras
Over at Dan Murphy’s Wines of the World, visitors were spoilt for choice with various local and imported wines, sparkling and champagnes on taste.
Bay of Fires Tasmanian Cuvée
Macon Villages, Meursault and Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru
Of particular interest was Louis Latour Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru from Côte de Beaune with its nutty aroma and flavour and crisp acidity.
