Gourmantic Turns Three

Today marks a special anniversary in the Gourmantic calendar. Exactly three years ago, Gourmantic.com went live, unleashing a vision for a website that celebrates combined passions: travel, food, drink and writing.

In website years, three years translate to an ever-growing international audience, 615 quality articles, thousands of photographs, comments, Likes, retweets, stumbles and other social media interactions. That’s a lot of history so far.

Gourmantic

Much like us, Gourmantic has evolved from its shy, anonymous and humble beginnings to becoming well-known on the food, drink, bars, spirits and Sydney events scene. Yet it still comes as a surprise when we meet people who tell us they either know of our website or know who we are.

We’ve met some amazing chefs, producers and inspirational people in the hospitality industry. We’ve developed a special appreciation of the bartending profession and, the skill and talent that go behind making every cocktail. We’ve covered a wide range of topics and events and we continue to diversify and learn from every experience.

Looking back at recent achievements is a humbling exercise. Accolades such as having the NEW YORK TIMES link to our articles on two occasions (our interview with Toby Smith and our Montmartre Vineyard feature) are a little overwhelming. When we discovered USA Today Travel listed us as reference in an article on Dubai, we were amazed. Then it was pointed out that Wikipedia did the same for Champagne Stemware and the Australian Film Walk of Fame and we had a mention in Harpers Wine & Spirits in their Champagne Summit article.

Oftentimes we are asked how the idea for Gourmantic was born and we’ve explained it here last anniversary. The vision we had for a nascent Gourmantic three years ago still stands today – an idea that was born out of passions, a celebration of amazing experiences to be shared beyond our dining room table.

Thank you for being part it.
