Glenfiddich single malt whisky hosted the Glenfiddich Pioneers Party at the Old Growler in Woolloomooloo to announce the winners of the cocktail competition.
The national final of this bartender competition took place earlier in the day at a pioneering location near Wisemans Ferry where the bartenders were tasked with creating their cocktails in front of a judging panel of industry representatives and the other contestants before being flown back to Sydney.
Evan Stanley
Evan Stanley (Black Pearl, VIC) took out first prize with Adam Bastow (Black Coffee Lyrics, QLD) in second place. They will be travelling to Scotland to visit the Glenfiddich distillery and taking a pioneering trip around the country.

Chad Hanson (Eden, SA) came in third and Phoenix Naman (Palmer and Co, NSW) in fourth place. They have won a place each on the Glenfiddich Outback tour in 2014. All of the finalists will have their drink recipes included in the Glenfiddich Pioneers cocktail booklet which will be pre-packed in Glenfiddich canisters over Christmas.
Judging the competition were Jason Williams (Keystone group), Sacha Delfosse (Bars and Clubs), James Buntin (Whisky Specialist), James Tait (Whisky Specialist) as well as peer judging by 5 of the other finalists.
The Finalists
Other finalists were Eoghan O’Neill (Casa Bla bla, SA), Blake Schill (Ravesis, NSW), Christopher Amon (New Gold Mountain, VIC), Ev Liong (Whisky and Alement, VIC), Daniel Monk (Toff of the Town, VIC). James Connelly (Rockpool, WA) was unable to attend.

A selection of the contestants’ cocktails was served at the event along with themed canapes such as Scotch eggs while guests were entertained by the tunes of Sons of the East.
