Shopping malls have come a long way in recent years, creating welcoming spaces that are conducive to shopping and dining. Central, dubbed as “The Living Mall” takes it further by combining retail, food, art and a digital wall in an interactive designer space.

Situated along Broadway opposite UTS, Central is easily recognised by its vertical garden exterior. Its location in the heart of Central Park is a mere 5 minute walk from Central station and attracts business workers and students alike.
The multi-level vertical mall features a sun-drenched emporium, unique design features that are the work of Ateliers Jean Nouvel and PTW Architects (Australia), with artist/botanist Patrick Blanc (France) and lighting artist Yanne Kersale (France). Inside, you’ll find a vibrant mix of retail stores, restaurants, art spaces and interactive elements.
Food outlets are a major feature of the mall and take an Asian flavour with Sedap, Bombay Central, Lang Suan Thai Street Food, Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks, the recently-opened Din Tai Fung and many more.
From May 12 to June 8, Central will be showcasing signature food with hero dishes from multicultural eateries such as laksa, tacos, dumplings and a Havana breakfast feast. Coco Cubano is holding a Winter Solstice Party on May 20 from 4.00-8.00pm and Fogo Brazilia is hosting an All You Can Eat Cha Cha Chicken Night on 21 May from 6pm with free entertainment for $20 per person.
Central is not your usual shopping mall. The sleek space invites you to look, touch and explore your surrounds, living up to its name, The Living Mall.
