Tayim restaurant is set to combine modern and traditional Middle Eastern cuisine when it opens this December.
Located within the boutique Harbour Rocks Hotel in the Rocks area of the Sydney CBD , Tayim occupies the former site of Scarlett Restaurant. The space has undergone a redesign which includes an expansion of the former venue into a larger bar and dining area. In keeping with the historical features of the heritage building, sandstone walls have been restored to create an inviting space.
The Middle-Eastern inspired menu is designed by Head Chef Ran Kimelfeld (former Head Chef, Nour) and showcases the region’s dishes with a focus on bold, exotic share plates cooked using traditional methods on the open grill. Signatures include, grilled sardine Shakshuka, summer mushroom Borekas and grilled chicken Masahan.
Blending locally sourced produce with fruits, herbs and spices sourced from the transcontinental region, the menu features revived adaptations of time-honoured dishes, such as roasted figs paired with radicchio, goats’ cheese and chardonnay dressing, and semolina rose pudding accompanied with pistachio meringue and summer berries.
Adjacent to the restaurant, Tayim Deli serves breakfast and lunch with a take-away menu that features sandwiches and wraps filled with the likes of falafel, chicken shish and lamb kofta.
Tayim is set to open in December for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
