The No So Classic Steak Tartare ($24) is fresh hand cut beef with a punchy seasoning. The smoked Shemiji mushrooms and organic yolk enhance this quite substantial dish that is accompanied by truffle crisp bread.

My Dear Venison “The Roman Osso Bucco” ($36) is tender and sweet on the bone after being braised and cooked for six hours in red wine. Served with wet Mascarpone polenta, pearl onions and mushrooms with Lemon Balm, this dish is rich, sweet and satisfying.

The beautiful fresh flavour of the Sicilian-Japanese Market Style Tuna ($44) shines through as the tuna is just seared and served pink with a fennel and pepper crust on a bed of cauliflower mash. Sitting on top of the tuna is a crisp Japanese pickled zucchini, black sesame and ginger salad which combines well in the dish. The Sorrenberg Chardonnay 2012 paired well throughout the meal.

A Kubrick Era Dessert ($21) is the signature dessert and one that should not be missed. A beautiful white chocolate dome is presented which collapses once the dark chocolate sauce is poured on by the waiter, revealing insides of blueberries, double chocolate mousse, spearmint sorbet on a  bitter chocolate crumble bed.

Capitol Bar & Grill is a welcoming space with plenty of natural light during breakfast and lunch with the lights dimming once the sun has set to create an intimate atmosphere. If taking break from sightseeing or powerbroking, check out the comprehensive wine menu as well as its cocktail menu and spirits list from the full length bar before settling back and enjoying a meal from the friendly and attentive team.
