Citi has held an intimate media dinner at Bentley Restaurant & Bar, hosted by Bentley head chef, Brent Savage, along with McWilliam’s Senior Winemaker, Bryan Currie. The dinner was part of the launch of their Rethink Banking campaign.
Amuse: Roast Potatoes with Smoked Sour Cream & Chives
Champagne Taittinger Brut Reserve was served on arrival before a cooking demonstration by Chef Brent Savage. Guests then sat down to a three course meal paired with McWilliams wines.
Honey Bugs, Sea Blight, Buttermilk
The entree, which was part of the demonstration, was a beautiful dish of blow-torched Honey Bugs, Sea Blight, Buttermilk ($25) paired with a crisp 2013 McWilliam’s Appellation Sauvignon Blanc from Orange in NSW.
Mulloway, Pink Turnip, Scallop Roe
From the mains, the Mulloway with Pink Turnip and Scallop Roe ($46) found its match with the lightly oaked 2013 McWilliam’s 842 Chardonnay from Tumbarumba in NSW.
Green Leaf Salad with Lemon Mustard Dressing ($12)
Violet Ice Cream with Cocoa Honeycomb and Blueberry
For dessert, the Violet Ice Cream with Cocoa Honeycomb and Blueberry ($20) paired well with the sweet honey notes of the 2010 McWilliam’s Morning Lights Botrytis Semillon from the Riverina in NSW.
The media dinner was held on 7 July 2015.
