The ABC delicious. Produce Awards for 2013 were held last night at Kitchen by Mike with industry leaders and producers from all across Australia in attendance.

Over 3000 nominations were received this year with produce judging taking place over two days in Sydney. National judges Shannon Bennett, Guillaume Brahimi, Christine Manfield and Alla Wolf-Tasker joined awards patron Maggie Beer and delicious. food editor Valli Little, with the assistance of an expert panel, including Colin Holtof Hudson Meats, provedore Simon Johnson and John Susmanof Fishtales. The critics panel – John Lethlean, NeciaWilden, Simon Marnie, Simon Thomsen, Matt Preston and Jane Adams – came together for the non-produce categories.

Now in their 8th year, the awards recognise outstanding contributions by small and artisan producers and the growing interest in sustainability.

Guests enjoyed canapés that showcased some of the winners and finalists, as well as Logan Wines and Rocks Brewing beer before the winners in each category were announced by host Simon Marnie.
