Food Is Fashion, Westfield Sydney

How do you pair a croquembouche with double denim and toffee fur, or beef tartare and edible flowers with digital floral print and moss cape?

Food Is Fashion launched last night at Westfield Sydney, a creative photographic exhibition that combines real shopper fashion with signature dishes from the restaurants and eateries in the shopping centre.

Curated by fashion blogger, Nicole Cooper, the collection showcases 17 pairings from the centre’s retailers including Din Tai Fung, Sushi Hon, Ippudo, Victoria Room Tea Salon, Jones the Grocer, Ragu Pasta and Wine Bar and Sydney Tower Dining.

Following from last year’s inaugural Edible Fashion Collection, the exhibition was officially unveiled on Wednesday, 24 July at Cloudy Bay Fish Co. where guests were treated to a selection of tasty bites from the restaurants’ menus. Canapes included Kinkawooka mussels from Cloudy Bay Fish Co, lightly tossed with tomato, garlic and parsley and served on spoons, mini Reuben Sandwiches from Reuben & Moore, pork belly baklava from Xanthi and toasted baguette with blue cheese and freshly shaved prosciutto from Jones the Grocer.

The free exhibition opens to the public on Thursday, 25 July and continues until Thursday, 15 August 2013.
