Toby’s Estate has relaunched its flagship café and in Chippendale after a major refurbishment.
Toby’s Estate Café, Chippendale*
With a fresh bright interior, industrial down lights, and original ladders from the time the venue was the Kennett Ladder Company, the venue is at home with its Chippendale locale. The café has expanded its kitchen and included a large window overlooking the roastery.
An updated menu is in harmony with the origins of Toby’s Estate coffee with specialty dishes from Columbia, Brazil, Kenya and Panama. Dishes include Peruvian Scallop Ceviche with Cucumber Salad, Sweet Corn & Coriander Relish ($17), ‘Panama Arepas’ Traditional Corncake Tortillas filled with Pulled Pork, Fried Egg & Onion Relish ($17) and Pulled Cascara Pork Burrito with Black Bean, Rice, Chipotle & Corn Salsa ($16) as well as Brazilian Acarajé and Kenyan maharagwe chicken.
At the official launch, Toby Smith, founder of Toby’s Estate whom we interviewed in 2012, said that “the refurbishment of the signature café will allow Sydney-siders to live, breath and taste the passion of Toby’s Estate.”
Toby’s Estate Gourmantic Blend
In the coming weeks, the venue will have extended trading hours and a liquor license and will be open for dinner until 10pm from Thursdays to Sundays. In support of other local providers, beer and cider from Newton based brewery will soon be on tap.
Toby’s Estate Chippendale Café relaunched on Wednesday 30 July 2014.
