Seriously Japanese Pop-Up Zushi Roller-Coaster

Geishas, salary men and sushi delivery by roller coaster were the theme of Toshiba’s Seriously Japanese Pop-Up Zushi Roller-Coaster, a three day event in collaboration with Zushi restaurant of Surry Hills.

Held at District 01 along Randle Lane in Surry Hills, the venue seated 16 guests at a time around a sushi train table with a difference. Ordering via Toshiba tablets, each guest was entitled to one meal, be it sushi, sashimi, maki roll or salmon soba. Place your order on the screen, and in no time, your food is whooshed to you on wheels via a roller coaster that loops around red lanterns then makes its way in front of you – the action being too fast to capture on camera.

The Seriously Japanese Pop-Up Zushi Roller-Coaster was a free event and the queue to get in looped around the narrow lane with many eager to try the latest food ordering and delivery system.

Move over sushi trains, it’s roller coaster time all the way.
