Champagne Pommery has unveiled Pommery Apanage Blanc de Blancs NV, its newest Blanc de Blancs non vintage cuvée.
Made from 100% Chardonnay grapes from the northern terrain of the Montagne de Reims and the hills of Nogent l’Abbesse, this harmonious combination of terrains allows this Cuvée to express an astounding freshness and maturity worthy of an Apanage.
Pommery Apanage Blanc de Blancs has a strong Spring freshness on the nose with subtle floral notes of jasmine, as well as acacia, linden and citrus fruit. The initial taste allows the fresh apple to takeover with the balance of the final notes being the subtle flavour of yellow grapefruit. This new release continues in the Pommery tradition of excellence, innovation and a gastronomic selection of fine Cuvées, ideal for enjoying in the warmer months.
Pommery Apanage Blanc de Blancs NV Tasting Notes
On the Eye: Pale gold with tender green hints. Exceptional brilliance. Sustained effervescence of a very high finesse.
On the Nose: With a remarkable elegance, the first nose reveals a spring freshness. Subtle floral notes of jasmine and acacia are harmoniously paired with delicate grades of linden. After this first impression of an incredible freshness, a large complexity reveals itself during which notes of citrus fruits and a creamy impression of frangipane express themselves alternately.
On the Palate: The attack is open, without detour, as a sign of a very great assemblage. The elegance and freshness revealed on the nose can be found back on the palate. The heart of the tasting is of an exemplary righteousness. The aromas of citrus fruits and white fruits (fresh apple) take over. The balance of the final is perfectly revealing the subtle flavour of yellow grapefruit.
Drinking occasions: The aperitif will be a privileged moment to appreciate this wine but a Baerii caviar, a tartare of gilt head bream with citrus fruits or a carpaccio of scallops with green lemon will reveal other facets of this cuvée.
