Osaka Bar has opened in Potts Point bringing Osaka soul food to Sydney.
Located at Llankelly Place in Potts Point, the casual venue is owned by Chef Kazu who brings 30 years of experience starting as a traditional Japanese Chef at 18 years of age. He has later worked at Shojin Ryori, Shrine at Ko-yasan in Wakayama prefecture and Ryotei. He has cooked for prominent Japanese politicians and was a personal omakase chef for a renowned baseball player and his fiancée. He moved to Australia in 1996 where he first worked as a restaurant manager in Sydney’s Masuya restaurant and two years later became head chef.

Osaka Bar’s menu includes classic Osaka soul food such as tako-yaki balls (fried octopus balls), okonomiyaki (Japanese savoury pancake) and kush-katsu (deep fried skewered meat). The popcorn prawn is not to be missed and the spicy soft shell crab tempura is another hit. The signature grilled duck confit is the pick of the menu, with tender and flavoursome 65℃ confit duck breast, seared and oven grilled served with blueberry miso sauce and honey mustard.
Osaka Bar is licensed and offers a selection of Japanese and local beer, wine with a sake menu. No matter which dishes you choose on your first visit, you’ll be back for more with your friends.
