If your idea of Greek wines is a rough and not so ready retsina of old, this upcoming event is set to challenge your perceptions.
New Wines of Greece will be bringing a contingency of Greek winemakers to Australia to showcase the newest and most innovative wines from the world’s oldest winegrowing region.
More than 20 winemakers, educators and grape-growers will visit Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide for a series of tastings, dinners and masterclasses that have previously only ever been held in the USA and Canada.
Over 90 wines will be on taste including indigenous varieties and Greek expressions of international classics spanning the wine regions of Greece, from the Peloponnese through to Santorini and the islands.
A series of masterclasses will also be held.
Day 1, 11am – Assyrtiko from Santorini and Beyond

Day 2, 11am – Flagship Red Varieties (Agiorgitiko, Xinomavro and Blends)

The Sydney Trade Tasting will be held on Monday, 29 June and Tuesday, 30 June from 12pm-5pm at Establishment, 252 George St, Sydney. One-hour masterclasses at 11am, 1pm and 3.30pm. Trade wishing to attend must register by contacting 02 9667 4211.
