After 15 years in the making, Champagne Laurent-Perrier has launched La Cuvée, a new addition set to become the flagship of the House style replacing Laurent-Perrier Brut.
Blended with 50-55% Chardonnay, nearly double the average in Champagne, Champagne Laurent-Perrier La Cuvée is crafted with the purest grape juice to create a Champagne that embodies great finesse and a beautiful freshness.
Only the musts of the grape are used which means only 80% of the grape juice is extracted from pressing. The grape varietals consist of 50 to 55% Chardonnay, 30 to 35% Pinot Noir, 15% to 20% Pinot Meunier as well as up to 20-30% Reserve wines to ensure consistency in the style. The blend of La Cuvée is made from more than 100 crus selected by Laurent-Perrier and aged in the cellar for up to 4 years.
Compared to its predecessor, Laurent-Perrier Brut NV, the dosage was reduced from 12.5 g/l to 9 g/l to yield a brighter and more refined wine.
A fine mousse, aromas of fresh citrus and white flowers and an elegant, refined and fresh palate with good length make this wine ideal as an aperitif and as an accompaniment to poultry dishes.
Champagne Laurent-Perrier La Cuvée is available nationally at a RRP of $69.95 AUD.
