You’ll find it located opposite the ASX in Sydney’s CBD next to the relocated Rockpool and Cafe Sopra. The retro style fitout gives a nod to nostalgia with an industrial design with bare bricks, exposed concrete ceilings, timber panel walls, steel, glass and copper tubing.

Casquinha de Siri

Casquinha de Siri was a delicious and flavoursome dish of sauteed crab meat with coconut milk, Brazilian Dende oil, tomatoes, bell peppers, Parmesan cheese, bread crumbs baked in scallop shells. The dish was served on top of a citric salad of pomegranate, orange and rocket with kiss peppers adding a touch of heat.

The entree was paired with one of Brazil’s leading wine producers, an interesting blend of varietals, 2013 Miolo Pinot Grigio Riesling from the Campanha region in the south. The wine is light, fruity and very quaffable with seafood or on its own on hot summer days. The winery was started by an Italian immigrant in 1897 and produces a variety of wines including sparkling.

Misleading to the eye, the Açaí Berry Smoothie was not a sweet, sugary dessert drink but an alcoholic beverage made with Velho Barreiro Cachaça, and açaí berry, a purple fruit known for its high antioxidant benefits. Here, the drink was made with Amazoo Açaí, a product available as a smoothie without the alcohol.
