Summer Sips: Blushing Lady Sparkling Fruit Fusion & Black Devil Cider

Winemaking Tasmania is known for creating some of Tasmania’s finest wines and ciders using local Tasmanian grown produce. This summer, they have released two specially crafted drinks, Black Devil Cider and Blushing Lady Sparkling Fruit Fusion.

Black Devil Cider

Black Devil Cider

Black Devil Cider is made from 100% fresh Tasmanian apples that have been hand-picked, sorted and washed, before being milled. The fruit undergoes a long, cool fermentation to produce a balanced cider that is crisp and on the drier end of the flavour spectrum while preserving the fresh taste Tasmanian apples are renowned for.

On the nose, Black Devil Cider (5% ABV) has aromas of bright fruit with clean fresh apples, vanilla and orange blossom while the palate is crisp and dry, with a very pleasant funky note and a clean finish.

Blushing Lady Sparkling Fruit Fusion

Blushing Lady Sparkling Fruit Fusion

As its name implies, Blushing Lady Sparkling Fruit Fusion is a bit of a hybrid, a new style of drink that’s refreshing without being overly sweet. The drink has a unique blend of hand-picked and sorted Tasmanian apples, cherries and Pinot Noir grapes, pressed and fermented, then blended and lightly carbonated. The result is a medley of flavours offering a refreshing palate which makes for easy drinking.

Blushing Lady Sparkling Fruit Fusion (8% ABV) has aromas of cherries with subtle, sweet forest floor characters and a hint of spice. The palate has flavours of cherry and dark spice along with hints of subtle crisp apple. Blushing Lady Sparkling Fruit Fusion is designed to appeal to wine drinkers an cider fans and makes a light aperitif or a sessionable drink to sip in the afternoons.
