What to Drink this Summer

The New Strongbow Cider

Strongbow Cider has relaunched with fresh new branding featuring a bold, wood-cut style tree illustration. The label has a printed wood grain finish to reinforce the cider’s origins in the orchard. The natural colouring of the labels give an earthy feel and complements the refreshing cues of the green glass bottle colour. You’ll find it in five flavours, Strongbow Classic Apple Cider, Strongbow Sweet Apple Cider, Strongbow Crisp Apple Cider and Strongbow Classic Pear Cider (in the traditional green bottle) and Strongbow Lower Carb Cider (available in the same clear bottle).

BEE Mead

If you need a change from cider, BEE Mead (4.5% ABV) is a pure blend of Australian clover honey and New Zealand Manuka honey from local apiaries. The honey is fermented for 5 weeks on wild yeast and pure water running 30 metres deep from the meadery in Mittagong. The Bee Mead range includes BEE Mead Manuka Honey, BEE Mead Honey and Ginger and BEE Mead Lime and Lemon. You’ll find it at $7.99 per 500ml bottle or $49.90 for a nine pack.

Joiy Sparkling Wine

From New Zealand comes Joiy Sparkling Wine, a sparkling aromatic wine made from Riesling grapes in the single vineyards in Waipara, New Zealand, it is presented in four 250ml screw top bottles for RRP $19.95. The wine is easy-drinking and surprisingly not too sweet making it a good complement to Asian spicy food or a cheese platter.

Sail & Anchor Changing Tides Barleywine Ale

Sail & Anchor have released a limited release brew, Changing Tides Barleywine Ale, an America style barleywine. This style of beer is brewed to the strength of wine (11% ABV) and has a deep, murky amber with a fluffy white head. The malt flavour and aroma are evident and is balanced with citrusy American hops. Available for $20 RRP for a 640ml bottle.

Fever-Tree Mixers

If you’re looking for a premium mixer, the Fever-Tree range uses natural and high quality ingredients,  designed to complement and enhance premium spirits. Natural sugars such as cane sugar and fruit sugar are used instead of saccharin sweeteners to create a range that uses quality ingredients from around the world, eg quinine from the Congo and ginger from the Ivory Coast. The range consists of Premium Indian Tonic Water, Ginger Beer, Lemonade, Ginger Ale and Soda Water.
