Returning for the third successful year, the month long-event puts a focus on the diversity, quality and value of Australian wines with a host of exciting events around the country.
Some of the Wines on Taste
The pre-launch was a casual event running from 12.00 pm to 8.00pm offering guests and passers-by the opportunity to taste a variety of fine Australian wines before the official launch in May.
Australian Seafood
Australian seafood was also on taste, with Petuna Smoked Salmon and a vertical tasting of prawns starting with banana prawns from Northern Prawn Fishery, king prawns from Spencer Gulf, Endeavour Prawns from Northern Queensland and farmed Aussie Tiger Prawns.
King Island Dairy Cheese
King Island Dairy Cheese was also on taste with Double Brie, Surprise Bay Cheddar and the Roaring Forties Blue.
Aussie Wine Month
Aussie Wine Unearthed, the official launch event for Aussie Wine Month will be held in conjunction with Dan Murphy’s, with sixteen of Australia’s best wine regions showcasing their wines on the evening. You can chat with a winemaker or sommelier, sample delicious local produce, and try your hand at food and wine matching. The launch will be held on Thursday, 1 May, 6-9pm at Ivy Ballroom, 330 George St, Sydney. Tickets cost $40 and can be purchased from www.merivale.com
