A Zizi in the Mouth

“I’ve got a zizi in my mouth” may not be the most inventive text message I have sent. But who could resist a juicy innuendo? These boys are smooth, powerful, delicious and oh-so-refreshing in the mouth.

Everything a good zizi should be.

Peppermint Zizi

Labelled as bonbons à sucer, they are mint-powered lollies in the shape of a zizi, a doodle, a wiener, a willy, Mr Happy, or whatever cutesy word takes your fancy to describe a penis. They come in a metallic box with an excited-looking zizi sporting a cheesy grin on the lid.

Contrary to popular belief, the box was not purchased from an adult store. It came from the shelves of Lafayette Gourmet, the temple of food at Galeries Lafayette in Paris.

Peppermint Zizi Peppermint Zizi

Apart from being an infantile word for penis, le zizi means little bird, taking its name from the bruant zizi, the Emberiza Cirlus, known for his distinctive song. And on that note, Pierre Perret, a French singer and composer, sang the praises of the bird in his 1974 rendition of, Le Zizi, describing all shapes and sizes in the cheeky lyrics.

Is it a bird? Is it a song? Mais non, c’est le zizi!
